Despite the fact that this Spike is on all-fours and the show Spike is bipedal, this figure is pretty show accurate. I had to buy a light up hot-air balloon to get this figure. Not sure it was worth it, but I wanted a Spike. He comes with other sets, but this was cheaper and more avalaible.

Also...Hasbro is a good company...for the most part. The only complaints I have is lack of show-accuracy and avaliability...but other toy companies are guilty of this, too.

At least it's not Mattel. Hasbro really does know how to keep it's properties alive and Relevant. Mattel just keeps churning out the same old formula (case ratios, poor TV accuracy, nearly no female characters in the boys lines and nearly no male characters in the girls lines) and then looks on with surprise when a line fails.

The quadruped Spike is a little strange, but I guess someone figured he probably fits in better with the rest of the ponies that way. But you have to buy a set to get him? He's a main character! Really, he should come as an accessory to Twilight Sparkle, or in a special deluxe pack with her. You can always sculpt a different hairstyle on Twilight to justify it...

I want a spike now....
